The Paris Olympics have produced a host of controversies in various disciplines. Women's boxing is not left behind either.
In recent days, there has been a lot of talk about the participation of Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting in Paris, becoming the object of criticism on social networks.
Both 'boxers' were disqualified from the 2023 World Cup due to having XY chromosomes (as men have), when women must have two X chromosomes. Imane Khelif had received criticism from Italy (including rival Carini) before the match, after they considered her to be "trans", and they saw the decision she could make as unfair.
After her match against Angela Carini, the criticism certainly did not stop, where after 46 seconds the Italian said enough and surrendered. He then burst into tears.
Algerian boxer Imane Khelif is one of two boxers allowed to compete in the Olympics, despite being disqualified from the women's world championships last year for failing testosterone and gender conformity tests.
They are biological males, who through certain therapies are identified as females.
Today, Angela Carini had her Olympics dreams shattered by Imane Khelif, a male boxer.
