"Thank them that Adem Jashari is not alive", Mergim Vojvoda can't

At the height of racism, in the middle of Bucharest, Kosovo suffered a heavy 2-0 defeat against Romania, a defeat that practically eliminates the "Dardans" from the competition. It was not played in Serbia, but the atmosphere was the same, with the ultra Romanian fans who crossed all the limits, chanting: "Kosovo is Serbia", a call accompanied by various banners in the stadium. The tense atmosphere caused the challenge to be interrupted for 45 minutes, to restart again, perhaps this was the biggest mistake of Kosovo, which agreed to enter the field again.

The tension was clear, where within the first half Vedat Muriqi was punished twice with a yellow card, leaving the team with ten players. Muric caught Kosovo in the game waiting for a penalty in the 61st minute, but Kosovo surrendered in the end with Romania scoring two quick goals. Exile Vojvoda, at the end of the challenge, in an interview for "Klan Kosova", could not hold back his tears and did not hide his disappointment for this loss, but above all for the fact that such pure racism can happen in 2023:

" We didn't expect this after the draw with Switzerland. They received us without respect. To happen in 2023, this is incomprehensible. To keep us inside for 40 minutes is unbelievable. And also insult our state. These things did not happen. They are racism. We were wrong to return to the field. It does not allow us to insult our state. After we shed blood for it. May they be blessed that Adem Jashari is not alive ."

Group I is led by Switzerland with 14 points in 6 games. The "Helvetii" defeated Andorra cleanly 3-0, where Xhaka and Shaqiri were the main protagonists with a goal each. The Swiss captain scored a fantastic goal in the 84th minute, while in extra time, Shaqiri from the penalty spot made it 3-0. Romania ranks second in Group I with 12 points, Israel 11, Belarus 4 and Kosovo 4.
