Santos fans demonstrated this morning after the 1-2 loss to Fortaleza, which, combined with the victories of Vasco de Gama and Bahia, saw the Brazilian side relegated to the second division.
After the final whistle, several cars were set on fire outside the Vila Belmiro stadium, including that of Colombian striker Steven Mendoza, as well as a bus, in a series of incidents that caused an endless cloud of smoke.
For the first time in its 111-year history, the Brazilian club Santos will play next season in the Second League.
