The Albanian national football team will face Moldova tomorrow, a valuable meeting for the qualifiers of the 2024 European Championship.
The match will be played at the "Zimbru" stadium in Chisinau, starting at 18:00, with the red and blacks needing one point to secure their ticket to Germany. But on the other hand, for the Moldovans this match is worth everything, as a victory against Albania would mean an opportunity to qualify for the last match.
This was also emphasized by Leonid Oleinicenco, the head of the Moldovan Football Federation, who said that they want three points as they have no other way and are competing for a place in Euro 2024. Speaking to RTSH, he expressed confidence that his national team will win, even though everyone sees Albania as the favorite.
"We will win even though this may sound a little strange to you. I am sure that we will win because I have a lot of faith" , said Leonid Oleinicenco.
However, he does not underestimate our national team, which he says is a strong team and plays very good football.
"Albania, or rather all the Balkan teams, play very good football. I want to say the same for Kosovo and this has been a big surprise for us in these qualifiers. You have a very strong team and in your national team the word group makes sense because you are very united. We expect a very difficult match with Albania. You probably only need one point but I know very well that Albania will play to win as usual but we will see what will happen" , said the head of Moldovan football.
Despite this, for his Leonid Oleinicenco will get three points with two goals.
"I told you, we're going to win and it doesn't matter how we win. We will win with 2 goals", said Leonid Oleinicenco.
In the qualifying group E, Albania with 13 points holds the first place, followed by the Czech Republic with 11, Poland with 10, Moldova with 9 and the Faroe Islands with only one point.
