“ Altin Azemi is the story of Monday’s match. The 15-year-old was substituted in the 88th minute and made his professional debut. The Switzerland U-16 player didn’t need time to warm up. Just six minutes after being activated, he received the ball for a free kick. He sent the ball into the net and the celebration was fervent. After Azemi took off his shirt and held it aloft like Lionel Messi, he received his first yellow card on his debut. At 15 years, 11 months and 2 days, Azemi is now the youngest goalscorer in Challenge League history. He surpasses the record held by Valon Duzhmani for almost 19 years. Duzhmani, now 35, scored for Kriens in July 2006, when he was 16 years, 5 months and 2 days old ,” writes Swiss media outlet, “bluewin.ch”.
Azemi has played two matches for Switzerland U-15 and nine more for Switzerland U-16. For the latter he has scored two goals. In the 17-year-old league he has four goals in 13 matches this season. He has also played two matches in the 19-year-old league in Switzerland.
