Milan appoints new sporting director

AC Milan appear to have chosen a new sporting director. CEO Giorgio Furlani is meeting in London with former Juventus and Tottenham boss Fabio Paratici to reach a final agreement.

Paratici seems to have won the race with Igli Taren and Tony D'Amico, who were considered alternatives in recent weeks.

Paratici, a former midfielder, began his managerial career at Sampdoria with Beppe Marotta, who also wanted him at Juventus.

Then, in 2018, with Marotta's move to Inter, Paratici first took on the role of sporting director and then CEO at the 'Old Lady'. The separation from the black and whites took place in May 2021.

Paratici, who later took on the role of Tottenham general manager, is currently banned until July 20, 2025 due to the capital gains investigation involving Juventus (the FIGC Federal Court of Appeal banned him for 30 months).

Now, after settling with Spurs in April 2023, the chance to return to work in Italy will depend on him returning Milan to high levels after a disastrous season.
