Milan suffered a surprising defeat at "San Siro" this Sunday from Parma with the minimum score 0-1 in the 26th week of Serie A.
This is the second defeat for the Rossoneri in the championship after the one in the first week, interrupting an impressive streak of 24 matches without defeat in the league.
The match was played at a low and controlled pace, with Milan dominating possession and creating chances, but their attempts were insufficient to penetrate Parma's strong defense.
In the second half, the most notable moment for the Rossoneri was Rafael Leao's shot on the post, who was unlucky as the ball crossed the entire goal line and went out.
The real drama came in the 80th minute when Mariano Troilo, leaping higher than anyone in the area, headed home a corner kick from Emanuele Valeri. The goal was initially ruled out for a foul, but after a lengthy VAR review, referee Marco Piccinini ruled it legal.
In the remaining minutes, Milan increased the maximum pressure, but goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi and Parma's defense resisted heroically, keeping the goal intact.
The result did not change, dealing a major blow to Milan's title ambitions, who are now 10 points behind Inter at the top. Parma, on the other hand, take a golden victory that moves them up to 12th in the table, celebrating at San Siro.
