Teuta achieved a very valuable victory on the road, defeating Tirana with a minimum score of 0-1 at the "Selman Stërmasi" stadium, in the match of the 25th week of the Superior Category (Abissnet Superiore).
The first half of the match was quite balanced, with the home team appearing more demanding in attack. The most obvious chance for the white and blue team came from Tabek, but they were unable to score or break the deadlock.
After the break, the panorama of the game changed significantly. The team led by coach Enkelejd Dobi took full control of the match and increased the pressure on the opposing goal. Maçolli hit the crossbar, then the ball stopped on the post, while Arifi wasted a golden opportunity.
The fatal decision came in the 87th minute: after a VAR consultation, a penalty was awarded to Teuta. Xhoele Maçolli was accurate from the penalty spot, scoring the only goal of the match and giving the team from Durrës all three points.
This heavy loss leaves Tirana back in the cold zone of the standings, where it has spent most of this season. On the other hand, Teuta is significantly closer to fourth place, now only three points away from the main objective for the rest of the championship.
With this success, Teuta records its second consecutive victory in the Superiore, showing increasing form at a key moment of the season.
