Although Atalanta has not played against Rangers, the fans of these teams have fought in Lisbon, where there has been no shortage of punches and hard objects towards each other.
During the night between Wednesday and Thursday, two groups of fans were involved in several clashes in the center of Lisbon. Bergamo fans went to the hotel where the Scots were staying, who arrived in Portugal to support the team of the heart before the match against Benfica in the Europa League, while Atalanta played last night (1-1 against Sporting).
Italian fans tried to enter the hotel lobby, where chaos first erupted, before taking to the streets, as evidenced by dozens of videos circulating online. The insults between the two fans started right inside the structure, then continued outside. Then the fans moved to the street, near "Rossio" square, where the physical clash continued.
Not only kicks and punches, but as can be seen from the footage, they hit each other with sticks and iron bars. A source from the Metropolitan Command of the PSP in Lisbon confirmed that there was significant damage to the structure, but the police underlines that at the moment there are no reports of injured fans or even arrests.
