Serbia was the opponent that many in the World Cup qualifying group did not want, and this is not for the sporting aspect, but for what this challenge represents for Albanians. The match at the "National Arena" is not usual and this is also shown by the fact that the police plan for the measures has started to be drawn up much earlier. Sources of "Report TV" indicate that 1500 police forces will be engaged in the smooth running of this challenge, starting from the escort of the two representatives, with a special focus on Serbia. From the moment of arrival in Tirana, the day before the match and until leaving Albania.

Anti-terrorist forces will also be on the ground for Albania-Serbia, while RENEA may also be involved in any case. The State Intelligence Service, or SHISH, has long started monitoring possible risks, while the measures also include security inside the stadium, although by law it belongs to the private company contacted by the AFL. Police forces will also be on the stadium premises, while the Federation has taken measures to use specific cameras that identify by face any fan who may behave inappropriately.

But why these measures for the match with Serbia?

The strongest reason is the war that this state has waged on the territory of the Albanians of Kosovo, the political tensions and the incidents that followed. One of the strongest is the Belgrade match between Serbia and Albania, in October 2014, when Serbian ultras attacked the players of the red and black national team on the field of play. The same ultras who in almost every stadium will not forget to shout 'Kosovo is Serbia', to burn the Albanian flag or even that of Kosovo. Part of these ultras, as has been said earlier by the Serbian media themselves, are former soldiers who fought in the Balkans.

An incident was also recorded in the return match played in Albania, as a fan threw stones at the Serbian team bus in Tirana. However, in that match, Albanian fans remember the great vicissitudes of entering the stadium, with extraordinary security checks, which they hope to avoid on June 7 in Tirana.

Beyond the sporting challenge, this match also carries historical and political dimensions, which have aroused emotion and tension among fans and public opinion. For this reason, the Albanian authorities have mobilized extraordinary security measures to guarantee a peaceful and incident-free sporting evening.

Cameras - The Albanian Football Federation, in cooperation with the State Security Services, the Police and other agencies, are implementing advanced security measures at the stadium. Modern security systems are being installed at the "Arena Kombëtare" stadium, including face recognition cameras and additional mobile cameras, which will monitor every movement in the stands and around the stadium in real time. This technology will help in the immediate identification of potentially problematic individuals.

Control – The police have prepared a detailed control plan, which includes a thorough verification of tickets and identification documents of every person entering the stadium. Tickets must be with the name and surname of the holder, thus preventing trafficking and abuse. Fans will not be allowed to enter with umbrellas, bottles, bags larger than A4, metal objects or anything else that could cause danger. The body search will be detailed and thorough.

Roads and Anti-drone - To prevent any possible danger, all roads leading to the stadium will be completely blocked, while the surrounding area will be protected with anti-drone equipment, to avoid the possibility of any external interference. There will also be a high presence of police forces and anti-terror units in the stadium. Albania-Serbia on June 7, 2025 will be an extraordinary event not only because of the rivalry on the field, but also because of the security challenges it brings.
