Nora Gjakova shines in Azerbaijan, the Albanian judoka wins the gold medal in the Grand Slam in Baku

The sport of Judo continues to give medals to Kosovo tournament after tournament. Nora Gjakova has won the gold medal in the Judo Grand Slam that is being held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.

Judoka "Dardane" climbed to the highest step of the podium for the weight up to 57 kg, reaching the goal she had set for herself.

Gjakova started her journey from the second round, winning by "ippon" against Arleta Podolak from Poland. In the third round, she triumphed again with an "ippon" against the German Seija Ballhaus, while in the quarterfinals she defeated Prishila Gneto of France, also with an "ippon".

In the semi-finals, the judoka from Peja defeated the Turkish Hasret Bozkurt, to pass to the grand final, where she faced Eteri Liperteliani from Georgia.

Gjakova defeated the Georgian with Waz-ari, to give Kosovo the gold medal.
