The World Handball Championship taking place in Croatia has not gone so well for one team. The Croatian police are looking for 10 athletes who practice this sport. These players from Burundi have disappeared before the World Cup match.
The Police Department where the complaint was made, Primorje-Gorski Kotar, said that maximum efforts are being made to find the players and the causes of their disappearance.
It should be noted that all the lost players were born in 2006. They had stayed in Rijeka, in the student center of this city. They left there on Wednesday and have not returned since.
A statement from the Croatian police says:
" The police received the notification about the absence of Burundian citizens who were participating in the world championship.
On Wednesday around [15:30] they left in an unknown direction. Measures and actions are being taken to find the missing handball players and establish all the facts and circumstances of their disappearance ."
