Refusing to resign, Ceferin fired Rubiales with a phone call, what the UEFA president told the former head of the Spanish Federation

The Spanish newspaper 'Marca' reports this Sunday that Luis Rubiales has been forced to resign, after a phone call from Aleksandër Ceferin, the president of UEFA. 

Surrounded on all sides after the controversy that arose over the kiss with Jenny Hermoso in the final of the Women's World Cup, the president of the Spanish federation (RFEF) refused to leave his post, despite being advised by everyone, including even those who were closest to him in the RFEF.  

Rubiales' concentration was 'broken', after Ceferin called him. According to 'Marca', the president of UEFA was determined and left no room for doubt: Either you resign, or I will fire you", said the Slovenian. 

Rubiales was vice-president and member of the UEFA Executive Committee, so he always thought that he could continue in UEFA in the future, when he was no longer President of the Spanish Federation, as has happened to other former heads of federations. After the call he received from Nioni, Luis Rubiales immediately resigned...
