
New details emerge from the tragic accident in Spain that killed Liverpool star Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.
According to Spanish police, the Portuguese star was overtaking another car on the A-52 motorway, near the Zamora region of Sanabria, when the Lamborghini's tire burst.
The luxury vehicle in which the two brothers were traveling went off the road and burst into flames.
Meanwhile, in the footage made public, their Lamborghini appears to be burnt down.
"The information we have so far is that the car, which was a Lamborghini, was involved in a road accident and went off the road due to a tire bursting while overtaking. It happened in the early hours of the morning, 00:30 local time, in the municipality of Cernadilla in the province of Zamora. The car was engulfed in flames and the two people in it lost their lives," the Civil Guard announced.
When asked about the identity of the people involved in the accident, the Civil Guard replied: "The player and his brother, Andre Silva."
Less than two weeks ago, Diogo Jota and his long-time partner, Rute Cardoso, got married.
The couple, who have three children together, ended their celibacy on June 22. But the joy of the footballer and his partner was short-lived, as the tragic accident took their lives.
