After a soap opera that lasted several years, finally, the historic stadium "Selman Stërmasi" will have a new face in the future and the facility along with the surrounding area will change completely. The President of Tirana, Refik Halili, has rejoiced in the success of his team in the derby, but also in the fact that the white and blue will soon have a new stadium.

" Let's talk about continuity now, let's see what we will do. We hope that the team moves forward, I congratulate everyone for the interest in this club because I have seen during this time even in the media that we have given the television rights to that there is absolutely no interest in the Tirana club. If you need an argument, it is simple. It is a great joy that the prime minister approves the construction of a stadium, when it comes to sports media everywhere did not comment that this is a great joy that the capital will have a new stadium .

Am I part of the new stadium? I don't even have 50 hours to give an answer, I have a lot to say about the club, football, the Albanian championship. In the coming days we can talk about many things, I can say one thing that I am part of the inside of the stadium. I know that many people don't care in general, this big fuss has probably been made about that stadium that hasn't stopped. I am part of the stadium, I greet you, we wish you well and I am convinced that we will move forward and the club will reach very high peaks in the coming years. "

The project designed by "OMA" is awaiting the green light to be implemented together with international and Albanian investors for the Tirana stadium. The new stadium will be of UEFA category IV, which means it is ready to host matches of the highest levels, except for very important finals that require a stadium with over 50 thousand seats.

A video of what the stadium will look like after completion has been published on the official website of the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation.

“Selman Stërmasi”, a name chosen according to the legend of the white-blue club, was also used until 2010 by the two other clubs of the capital, Dinamo and Partizani. The stadium was built in 1956 and was called “Dinamo” stadium until 1991 when it was given its new name. Currently, the stadium has 9,500 seats and has undergone various reconstructions several times.

Like nowhere else in the world, in our country every stadium project has several towers attached to it.
