Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is expected to leave his post earlier than expected.
The news is reported by journalist Pepe Alvarez, who says the Spanish leader will step down next year, despite his term running until 2028.
Perez, 78, has led Real Madrid since 2009, being a central figure in the club's sporting and economic transformation over the past two decades.
Meanwhile, the team is currently top of La Liga after 12 weeks, with 31 points. Led by Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid has a three-point advantage over their nearest challenger.
On November 23, the Madrid team will play away against Elches, in the next match of the Spanish championship.
