Albania won 1-0 away against Andorra, securing a place in the World Cup play-offs. This result caused not only joy and celebration, but also tense moments for striker Armando Broja.
British media outlet "The Sun" has emphasized the emotional state of the footballer, who was seen in tears after the match.
"Striker in shock! Former Chelsea star Armando Broja breaks down in tears and is comforted by teammate after Albania's big win," the tabloid writes.
Broja sat on the bench in despair after being substituted before the 60th minute, at a time when the game was still goalless. After the victory, the striker did not join the team's celebration, being the only player to stay on the sidelines.
On the field, Elseid Hysaj came forward to support him, while later, AFF leaders, including vice president Lutfi Nuri, tried to console him.
Broja, 26, who joined Burnley for £20m this summer, has yet to score in seven appearances for the English club.
"The Sun" also recalls his career in the Chelsea academy, his 16 years in London and the numerous loans before leaving for the Premier League.
Despite personal emotions, Broja is part of one of the most important moments in the history of Albanian football, as the National Team seeks to write history in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
