Koço Kokëdhima, the former SP MP, who for years was considered the 'bey of the south' due to the support and backing he had from Edi Rama, has reappeared after a long absence. Kokëdhima has not returned to politics, but has become the protagonist in an unpleasant incident that occurred during the Apolonia-Gramshi match, valid for the women's championship, a match played in Fier.
The President of the Apolonia Women's Sports Club, Koço Kokëdhima, entered the field during the game, threatening and physically pushing the match referee, Dorjan Melataj.
Due to the situation and the tensions created, the meeting was suspended for 25 minutes, to be resumed later.
The footage clearly shows Kokëdhima and team officials 'invading' the playing field and attacking the referee.
Sources from the Gramsh club called the restart of the match a violation of the regulations and according to them, the referee, under pressure, resumed the match that should have been definitively interrupted and declared as such by the Albanian Football Association, where disciplinary and administrative measures should have been taken.
After the game resumed, the match ended 1-0 in favor of Apolonia of Fier. At the end, a celebratory photo was even posted on the sports club's Facebook account, where the team's girls celebrate the controversial triumph.
The reason why the match became tense is still unknown, while official reactions and complaints from Gramshi's team are awaited.
At the moment there is no reaction from the Apolonia club, nor from the Albanian Football Federation. Sources from the Gramsh club claim that according to the regulations, the match should have been definitively interrupted.
They also claim that the coach, officials, and president of Apollonia insulted, pushed, and hit the match referee, while then pressuring him to restart the match.
