Roma failed to overcome Udinese's obstacle in the match of week 23 of Serie A. At the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, the yellow-red team was defeated by the locals with a score of 1-0, remaining with 44 points in the standings.
The first half of the match was cautious and without many concrete chances. Udinese came out more active at times, mainly with shots from distance, but without being able to seriously threaten Roma's goal.
In the second half, Roma started with a dangerous chance in the Friulian area, but just a few seconds later, Udinese took the lead with a goal from Ekkelenkamp, who took advantage of a free kick in the 49th minute.
Udinese had a chance to double their lead in the 76th minute when Kristensen fired a shot towards goal, but Roma goalkeeper Svilar managed to block it. Roma looked to have equalised in the 89th minute with a goal from Cristan, but the goal was ruled out for offside by Tsimikas.
With this result, Roma drops to fourth place, pushing Juventus into the top four.
