Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is currently out of action due to a thigh muscle injury.
The Saudi club Al Nassr striker has travelled to Madrid to undergo specialist treatment, with the aim of returning to his optimal form as soon as possible. According to reports, the 41-year-old is following a careful recovery programme to ensure a full physical return.
His goal is to be fully ready for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Mexico, Canada and the United States.
Modern recovery method
According to sports media, Ronaldo is using a modern recovery technique that applies positive pressure to the tissues of his legs to accelerate muscle healing. This method aims to improve blood circulation, reduce swelling and speed up the recovery process after injuries.
The treatment is performed using a special device that includes air-inflated “boots” controlled by a central computer. The device exerts controlled pressure on the legs, stimulating blood circulation and helping to release bruises. The process also acts as a relaxing massage for the muscles.
Sessions typically last 20 to 45 minutes, with 8 to 12 sessions recommended for athletes for optimal results. This method is widely used by professional athletes, but is also accessible to the general public, with an average cost of around $55 per session.
The club's reaction and future objectives
Earlier, Al Nassr coach Jorge Jesus stated that Ronaldo's condition is under control and that the player is following a structured recovery program.
A friendly match between the Mexican and Portuguese national teams is scheduled for late March 2026, and Ronaldo is expected to be ready for this match.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese striker's main objective remains to return to the field to continue pursuing his personal record of 1,000 career goals, as well as to be in the best possible shape for the next World Cup.
