Former Albanian national team coach Xhani De Biazi commented on the current situation of the red and black team and its prospects during an interview on the show "Off the Record" on "A2CNN". He emphasized that today's Albania represents a higher level compared to the period when he left in 2017.
According to De Biazi, the current composition of the team includes quality and young players who are active in various championships abroad, increasing the team's competitive potential.
" Today Albania is not in the conditions that I left in 2017, but it is a team with higher prospects, because there are many good players who are part of the basic teams, as well as young people who play abroad and can contribute to further growing the team ," he said.
The Italian coach underlined the importance of proper leadership for the national team, emphasizing that in addition to professional skills, the coach must also have an emotional connection with the team.
" We need a coach who feels Albania is the biggest thing in his hands and knows how to manage it. This is essential for the future of the team ."
Asked about the possibility of returning to the ruqezi bench, De Biazi expressed reservations about the specific role, but did not rule out a new contribution in the future.
" It's a difficult question. Sometimes I think about why I left at that time, because I could have continued. Today I don't know if as a coach, but I would like to come back and make a contribution for the President, to take our team further ," he said.
Finally, the former Albania coach also commented on the current coach, Silvinjo, defending him from criticism after failing to qualify for the World Cup.
" Silvinjo is not to be criticized, he can only cry about the result that was not achieved. It did not depend on him, as he had chosen the best team he could think of at that moment ," said De Biazi.
