The U-19 national team played the last match in the first round of the 2026 European Championship against Montenegro U-19. The Red and Blacks were defeated at "Niko Dovana" with the minimum score of 0-1.
Coach Julian Ahmataj fielded this formation: Taho (GK), Avdullari (C), Gecaj, Sina, Kulla, Durmishi, Blini, Vogli, Sylejmani, Sheji, Gjyla.
The first half ended with a scoreless 0-0, while the only goal of the match was scored in the second half by Matija Jovanovic in the 78th minute.
The Reds tried everything to change the fate of the match, but without success. The match ended with a score of 0-1 in favor of Montenegro. In the other group match, Ukraine U-19 defeated Slovakia U-19 with a score of 3-0.
Albania ended the qualifying campaign in fourth place with 1 point. All matches in this group were played at the “Egnatia Arena” and “Niko Dovana” stadiums under the organization of the Albanian Football Association.
