Alex Jimenez has been embroiled in a major scandal in England after private messages published on social media have put the Bournemouth defender at the centre of controversy. The 21-year-old, who joined from Milan in February, is being investigated over alleged communications with a 15-year-old girl.
The conversations, which were quickly shared online, have sparked strong reactions and calls for immediate intervention from the club and authorities. In one of the published messages, Jimenez writes: "I like younger girls."
According to materials circulating online, the girl made it clear to the footballer that she was a minor, while he allegedly continued the communication by minimizing the importance of her age. The publication of these messages has sparked great indignation in public opinion.
Faced with the situation, Bernmuth reacted immediately by suspending the player from sporting activity and launching an internal investigation. The matter is reportedly also being monitored by English authorities.
In an official statement, the English club announced:
" Bernmuth is aware of posts circulating on social media relating to right-back Alex Jimenez. The club understands the seriousness of this matter and an investigation is currently underway. As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for the match against Fulham and the club will not be making any further comment at this time ."
So far, the footballer himself has not reacted publicly regarding the accusations and materials published online.
