Just a few days after Turkish football experienced a serious scandal with the president of the Ankaragycy club punching the referee, another serious event has occurred, almost unbelievable for such levels. The president of the Istanbulspor club in the Super League forced his players to leave the game in protest against the referee's decision.
Istanbulspor, whose ranks include several Albanian footballers such as Rroca, Et'hemi and Loshaj or even the former captain of Egnatia, Xekson, faced Trabzonspor today, in a challenge that was abandoned before its regular end.

When Trabzonspor scored a 2-1 advantage in the 68th minute, the home team protested a foul on Loshaj, but VAR upheld the on-field referee's decision.
This led to the president of Istanbulspor, Ecmel Faik Sarıalioglu, deciding to withdraw his team from the field in protest.

Although his players pleaded with him to continue the game, he did not change his mind and thus, the team left the field of play, leading to the abandonment of the match. An unusual situation which complicates even more the situation of Istanbulspor, which closes the classification table in the Super League and will now face heavy sanctions.
