Kosovo is in mourning after the passing of one of the most beloved athletes for Albanian fans. Nazif Gashi has closed his eyes forever, leaving behind much sadness.
The news was announced by the family of the boxer, who passed away at the age of 74. Gashi had a great career as a boxer, as he was part of the golden generation of KB Prishtina.
A team that dominated for many years and left an indelible mark on boxing in the former Yugoslavia.
He defeated former Olympic Gold medalist in Los Angeles and world champion in amateurism and professionalism in the light heavyweight category, Slobodan Kacar.
He also defeated the world champion in amateurism and professionalism, Marian Benes, and defeated the former European runner-up and bronze medalist, Svetomir Bilic.
