The tension before the match between Tirana and Besiktas at the "Air Albania" stadium has caused UEFA to open a disciplinary investigation for the challenge played last week, valid for the second round of the Conference League. And the Turkish club has today made public the consequences of the actions of its supporters.
Beşiktaş, through an official communique, announced that UEFA had decided to punish them with a heavy fine, while giving a hand to the Turkish club by reducing from 2 matches to only 1 suspension for Masuak, who was punished with red card in that challenge.
" The suspension for our footballer Artur Masuaku, who received a red card in the match against Tirana, was reduced from 2 matches to 1. As a result, he will be ready for the second match that the team will play against Neftçi Baku in the third qualifying round of the Conference League.
Due to the events in the friend's stand during the match against Tirana, our club was fined 40,000 euros and the traveling fans' stand was closed for one match. This latest penalty was suspended for two years and will come into effect if the violations are repeated ," the Besiktas club wrote.
Now it is expected to learn what the punishment will be for the Tirana club, as there were problems with the blue and white fans in the riots that preceded the start of the match.
