Tragedy in cycling, the 22-year-old dies after colliding with a car

Cyclist Tijl De Deker, the winner of the Paris-Roubaix U-23 has died after colliding with a car two days ago, while training in Lier. 

Transported to the hospital of Lier (Antwerp), he underwent an operation before being transferred to the University Hospital of Antwerp, where he died.  

"It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tijl De Deker, after an accident in training last Wednesday. The team is heartbroken by this news and sends all its love and thoughts to Tijl's family and loved ones at this very difficult time ❤️", announced the Belgian team.
