Enzo Mareska has clarified his future, dismissing speculation linking him to the benches of Manchester City and Juventus.
On the eve of the Premier League match against Newcastle, the Chelsea coach spoke at the press conference, stressing that rumors of a possible departure are unfounded.
" It doesn't bother me at all because I know it's 100% speculation. There's no time for such things now, especially since I have a contract here until 2029. My attention is only on this club and I'm very proud to be here ," said Mareska, referring to rumors that he could be Pep Guardiola's successor at Manchester City.
The Italian coach also commented on the rumors linking him to Juventus, the club where he played as a footballer in the early 2000s. " They are just speculation. A week ago in Italy there was talk of Juventus, but I don't pay attention to it because I know it's not true. It's none of my business and I don't care at all ," he added.
Asked if he could promise the fans that he would stay at Chelsea next season, Mareska was clear: " Of course I will. I have a contract until 2029 and everything else is just speculation. I am only focused on the Newcastle game and on my work. "
Maresca's statements come at a delicate moment in the season, as Chelsea aims for continuity and positive results in the Premier League.
