The two Albanian teams, Drita and Shkëndija, have secured further advancement to the Conference League.
Despite the 3-0 loss to Vajekano, Drita secured passage to the 1/16 of this competition. Meanwhile, Shkëndija was defeated by AEK Larnaca 1-0, but even after this loss, remained part of the teams that secured passage further to the 1/16.
How will the Conference League play-off draw take place?
The knockout stages are determined by a draw conducted in accordance with the following principles:
Clubs are paired based on their positions at the end of the league stage to form four ranked pairs (clubs in positions 9 and 10, 11 and 12, 13 and 14, and 15 and 16) and four unranked pairs (positions 17 and 18, 19 and 20, 21 and 22, and 23 and 24).
The clubs in each ranked pair are drawn in the knockout phase, against the clubs in each unranked pair: clubs 9 or 10 against clubs 23 or 24, clubs 11 or 12 against clubs 21 or 22, clubs 13 or 14 against clubs 19 or 20, and clubs 15 or 16 against clubs 17 or 18.
In the next phase, Drita could play against Celje or AZ Alkmaar, while Shkëndija from Tetovo could play against Samsunspor or Lech Poznan. Everything will be learned from the draw that will be made in Nyon, Switzerland.
But they will officially learn their opponents on January 16 when the Conference League draw is made. The matches will take place on February 19 and 26.
