Maradona's daughter casts strong doubts about her father's death: The

" The house where Diego Maradona died was disgusting and smelled of urine ," the eldest daughter of the former Argentine footballer said Tuesday at the trial of health professionals accused of manslaughter in her father's death.

" The place was disgusting, it smelled of urine and the bed there was disgusting. There was a portable toilet, a panel placed on the window so there was no light and a sliding door. The room was horrible ," said Dalma Maradona, one of two daughters who resulted from her father's relationship with Klaudia Vilafane, when testifying in Bune.

Criticizing the medical team responsible for helping her father, Dalma admitted that the home where the former footballer died did not offer the conditions that clinical professionals had promised when they decided to admit him at home rather than in hospital.

" There was no bathroom nearby and the kitchen was disgusting. I have no evidence that anyone was responsible for cleaning ," continued Dalma, the second Maradona descendant to speak in court, after Jana, born from her father's relationship with Valeria Sabalain.

Dalma expressed regret for believing the word of neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luke, who, after an operation on the former Argentine legend for a hematoma in the head, did not keep the promised hospitalization at home, being mentioned as one of the people who made contact with the patient's family difficult at the time of death.

" They told us that everything was fine and under control, but they didn't let us in (the house), so we couldn't confirm if that was true," he added, assuring that family members had little influence and did not participate in the medical team's decision-making regarding the clinical procedures applied to Diego Maradona after the operation.

The daughter, through tears, said that she last saw her father on the day of his death, covered in a sheet and with his "face, hands, stomach and body very swollen."

Dalma's testimony followed that of Victor Stinfale, Maradona's lawyer and friend, who also questioned the conditions of home isolation faced by the former footballer and the role of Leopoldo Luke, one of the defendants in the case, stating that doctors "were concerned about Diego's addiction and not his heart."

Seven doctors are on trial for alleged negligence in the death of Diego Armando Maradona on November 25, 2020, and could receive prison sentences of eight to 25 years.

The trial began on March 11 and is expected to last until July, with two hearings scheduled per week and nearly 120 witnesses, with the defendants denying responsibility for the death of the 1986 World Cup winner for Argentina.

The former Boca Juniors, Barcelona and Napoli striker died at the age of 60, the victim of a cardiorespiratory crisis, in a hospital bed, in a private residence in Tigre, north of Buenos Aires, where he was recovering from neurosurgery for a hematoma on his head.
