Thiago Motta has been appointed as the new coach of Juventus. The 41-year-old Italian replaces Massimiliano Allegri at the Allianz Stadium. The news was confirmed by the club on Wednesday evening through a press release.
The 41-year-old has signed a three-year contract at the Allianz Stadium, which will run until 2027.
" I am really happy to start a new chapter at the head of a great club like Juventus. I thank the owners and the management, who can be sure of my ambition to keep the Juventus flag high and to please the fans ," Motta told the club's website.
Reports claimed Juve had earmarked Motta as Allegri's successor six months before making their move for the former Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.
The Old Lady sacked Allegri after their Coppa Italia victory over Atalanta, with the club announcing his departure due to "certain behaviors considered incompatible with Juventus' values".
Motta won 18 of his 37 league games this season, helping Bologna to a first Champions League qualification, with the club having not played in Europe's elite competition since 1964-65, when they lost in the preliminary round to Anderlecht on penalties.
