Another case of former minister Blendi Gonxhe's dirty dealings details his dealings with state assets, which he put up in fictitious auctions, formally for sale at low prices, predetermining the winners, his friends, ministers, and clients who paid tribute to him.
One of these auction processes for the sale of several state assets in three municipalities was not completed by Minister Blendi Gonxhe, because Prime Minister Edi Rama dismissed him as Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, removing him from the economy sector.
On September 2, 2025, Blendi Gonxhe announced the auction for the sale of four properties in the tourist area of Gjinari in Elbasan. With the same procedure and auction notice, he also put up for sale four other state-owned properties: the former Sauce Production Factory in Fier; the former Refrigerator in Rrëshen (divided into two auction procedures for sale); and the former Salami Factory in Përmet.
Gonxhe put these objects up for sale, through financial valuations manipulated by experts from the Public Property Directorate at the Ministry of Economy, at prices that were 25–30% of their current real value.
The Salsa Production Factory in Fier, with a total building area of 14,030 m², was put up for sale for 56 million lek.
The former Salami Factory in Përmet, with a surface area of 728 m², was valued at 3.5 million lek.
The buildings in the tourist spot of Gjinari in Elbasan, with a surface area of 543 m², were valued at 2 million lek.
The refrigerator in Rrëshen, with a surface area of 1,045 m², was put up for sale for 4.8 million lek.
The auction for the sale of these eight properties was scheduled to take place on September 25, 2025 at the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, but Blendi Gonxhe canceled it on September 15, four days after Rama removed the economy sector.
Gonxhe justified the cancellation by claiming that the Cadastre had delayed updating the ownership documents for the properties put up for sale. But this argument is not credible, because the data on the properties is taken from the “e-Albania” system and, moreover, the auction was scheduled 10 days after the cancellation, leaving sufficient time for the documentation.
In fact, the minister, tainted by corruption and theft, in this case the unrealized bargain, did not even know how to devise a convincing deception to hide the reason for the auction's cancellation: he could not benefit himself./ Pamphlet
