Dozens of women and activists gathered today in front of the Embassy of Pristina in Tirana, after the murder of Liridona Murseli in Kosovo. The ambassador of Pristina in Tirana also joined the protest, as they called for the cessation of violence and justice for Liridona.
"I went out to meet him in front of the embassy door. It is a human initiative and I thank you for the feeling you show about a case that has shaken Kosovo, which is stunned and in real shock. Your protest is to be supported and your calls for justice for Liridona and for every woman. "Justice has its say for such a monstrous crime as happened to Liridona ," he said.
At the end of the protest, the activists lit candles in honor of the murdered 33-year-old woman.
Liridona Murseli, the 33-year-old wife of Naim Murseli, the former councilor of Behgjet Pacolli, was killed after what was initially investigated as a robbery. It was initially reported by the Kosovo Police as "robbery with consequences of murder". The serious event took place on November 29, 2023 on "Dalip Alshiqi" street in Pristina, Kosovo. That night, Murseli had confessed to the police that they had fallen prey to a robbery while he was in the car with Liridona and the children, but investigations and evidence led to another track.
And on December 1, a few hours after the funeral ceremony of Liridona Murseli, the arrest of Naim was announced. In the Kosovar media, it is written that the former advisor of Behgjet Pacolli has admitted to the investigators that he ordered the murder of the woman to the suspect Granit Plava. The latter admitted that in order to commit the murder, Murseli promised him 30,000 euros in exchange for the murder of his wife.
Today, the Court of Pristina has set the measure of one month's detention against Naim Murseli and two other suspects, for the murder of Liridona Ademaj.
