View from the floods in Dimal

The village of Çiflik, in the Dimal municipality, is one of the areas most affected by the successive floods that occurred during December 2025 and early January 2026. Within this period, the village was hit four times by floods, causing significant damage to agriculture.

Even though it has been about a month since the last flood, dozens of hectares of greenhouses, agricultural land, and fruit trees are still under water. As a result, farmers' production has been completely destroyed.

In greenhouses that have not yet dried out, the water level reached up to one meter, damaging plants that were in the harvesting phase. Due to the high humidity, planting new seedlings is currently impossible, until the soil dries out completely. A similar situation is also present in open agricultural lands, while many fruit trees continue to stand in water.

Farmers state that the damages are extensive and directly affect the household economy, which relies mainly on agricultural production. According to them, the losses in crops and fruit trees are considerable and require financial support from the authorities to cope with the consequences.

Residents say that, although the damages have been verified by the relevant structures, they have not received any financial assistance so far. They appeal to state institutions for compensation, emphasizing that the recovery of the land and the start of a new production cycle will be possible only after 2–3 months, when the land has completely dried out.
