A strong earthquake was recorded in the Central Albania area this evening around 8:00 p.m. According to preliminary data, the epicenter is known to have been the city of Elbasan.

The depth of the hypocenter is reported to have been 10 km, while the tremors were felt mainly in the areas around Lushnja, Elbasan, Belshi and partially in Tirana. 

There are currently no reports of material damage, while residents near the epicenter of the earthquake have said they felt strong tremors.
