State Police representative Dhimitraq Ziu, during a media conference, provided details on the interventions carried out after the damage to the Librazhd-Prrenjas segment.
Ziu stated that police services went to the scene immediately after the problem was discovered, taking measures to secure the perimeter and stop the movement of vehicles in the affected area.
He announced that vehicle movement has been diverted to other axes, according to the guidelines of the ARA, while a detailed plan of measures has been drawn up to guarantee road safety in the alternative segments. This plan includes checks and orientations for all vehicles circulating in the area, with the exception of the damaged segment, where traffic has been stopped.
Also, the Directorate of Migration and Border Police is committed to orienting citizens at border crossing points regarding the direction of movement and the situation on the ground. According to the Police, the priority remains the prohibition of traffic towards the damaged segment, the implementation of the ARA instructions and the respect of the rules of the Road Code.
"It went to the scene, took security measures, stopped the movement of vehicles, contacted the ARA and the entities that carried out the works on this axis, set the norms and rules and diverted the movement of vehicles to different axes according to the orientations of the ARA. We drafted a detailed plan of measures to take special measures for road safety on all axes, which will include all vehicles, except for the place where the damage occurred. The Directorate of Migration and Border Police orients at the border crossing points about the entire situation and the direction of movement on the different axes. The special tasks are to stop movements towards the place where the road axis was damaged, orientation according to the ARA instructions and respect for the Highway Code" , said Ziu.
While institutions explain the measures taken after the event, regarding the causes of the damage, responsibility has been attributed to natural factors.
