The Tirana police have arrested 12 people who are accused of causing economic damage to the Albanian state up to 2 million euros by avoiding tax obligations.

In the framework of this operation, it became possible to execute the Decision of the Court of the Judicial District of Tirana, which has set a security measure "arrest in prison" against 12 citizens, (3 Albanian citizens and 9 Italian citizens) with the initials ED, BH, ED, DM, TM, DD, FP, RR, UM, GR, SD, AP
" From the conducted investigations, it was found that these persons have been able to organize a true criminal structure with the sole purpose of profiting by avoiding tax obligations, performing activity in the field of consultancy services.
The suspected fictitious invoicing of these consultancies was carried out by 'Persona Fizik' subjects in LLC subjects (Limited Liability Companies), where the latter (LLC subjects) then exported (sold) these services to the state Italian. By fictitiously increasing the expenses, it has become possible to equalize them with the income and in this way the value of the profit tax liability to be paid is lower, thus avoiding the real liability arising from the profit tax. In this way, elements of the criminal offenses provided by articles 180, 190 and 143 of the Criminal Code in the Republic of Albania have been consumed.
From this criminal activity, the aforementioned citizens, through fictitious entities, have been able to benefit from the fictitious increase in expenses, up to this stage of the investigation, a calculated value of 471,778,384 ALL, thus causing monetary and financial damage to the Albanian state in the value of about 2 million Euros. It is suspected that other persons and entities are involved in this criminal activity, as well as officials of the state administration, for which investigations and procedural actions continue to document all criminal activity.
This criminal activity is suspected to also extend to the Italian state, where the main beneficiaries also operate, which are entities that benefit from the entire value of the suspected fictitious consulting services, which is estimated at over 6 million Euros. Efforts are being made to extend the investigations to the Italian state. "- announces the procuracy.
