Based on the murder that happened in the prison of Peqin and the hints that it may have happened for revenge motives, Zef Gjeta, an expert on the canon of Lekë Dukagjini, says that mentioning him in such events is a mistake.
Gjeta explains the content of the canon in principle and calls for it not to be mentioned because it is wrong.
"People who have not read it take it upon themselves to talk about the canon, even if they have read it they have not understood it, and even if they have understood it, they do not know how to interpret it. In order for the canon to function, it must also have its own structures. I call on every person with conscience not to mention the canon because it spoils their image. It has nothing to do with canon. Lekë Dukagjini said "the good and the bad go one by one". It has nothing to do with the canon, revenge is different and I have absolutely nothing to do with the concrete event, I don't know who did it, I don't take it upon myself to interpret anything, but the canon should not be mentioned because a person who has never read it , he didn't understand it, he didn't interpret it because he needs a lawyer, he needs to read it, understand it and experiment for 30-40 years and then say yes, this has a fair judgment", said Gjeta in "Opinion".
The find also evidences the only two cases where the canon contains the laws of murder.
"Only in two articles does the canon say to kill: 1, when they kill your friend and 2, in the conditions when you find the woman with her lover and with the condition of killing them with a bullet. In all other cases, the canon says it happened like this, let's fix it. In no place does he say it happened like this and take the rifle", he added.
