A serious event has shocked the country in the last two days, after a 27-year-old woman ended her life after publishing an intimate photo on social networks.
In connection with this case, the well-known TikTok character, Altin Çoku, who allegedly published the photo, causing the young woman's suicide, was arrested.
The psychologist Helena Halilaj spoke about this case, who said that such events are constantly repeating and in Albanian society such phenomena are becoming common.
"What is worrying is the fact that we are making some similar copies of the stories that are repeating themselves. There will come a time when murder and suicide of women will become commonplace. We have started some phenomena that we have started to make very common in our society. We don't always know all the tracks that this event came from and people react with the first impact of what happened," she said.
Halili further stated that the person who feels sorry for him is the 27-year-old's little child, who is moving into the background of this story.
"What hurts me is an individual. And this is the little child. This child has no fault. Children move to the second plan, dealing with pink stories, with murders, with social networks. I don't think the source of the girl's suicide is just this moment, this would have been the climax. It is an individual who has lost control. She didn't think like a mother. If there's one thing that never lets you die, it's the child. She acted as an individual in relation to the opinion ", said Halili.
The psychologist further added that legal measures should be taken for these cases, as social networks have become a form of pressure for many women and girls.
"Actually, I think that legal measures should be taken. Social media has become a form of pressure for many women and girls. Many girls who may have had quite ordinary conversations with ex-partners and then used different photos and different communications. I think it's time we should make a general invitation for girls and women to be very careful because the individuals we have in front of us may not be responsible", said Halili for "Vizion Plus".
