Journalist Klodiana Lala says that in Albania the number of transgender people who come from different countries of the world to offer sexual services is increasing.
Invited to the show "Opinion" on TV Klan, Lala has shown an unusual case of a meeting between a 60-year-old man from Italy and a transgender who performed sexual services in Albania, a case that ended up at the doors of the courts.
Klodiana Lala: A detail that has left even the investigators speechless is also related to transgenders. There have been many transgender people who have offered sexual services. We have had a case of an Italian who was arrested together with a citizen from Venezuela, who reached through a number that was left on the concrete page to have contact, then they had problems in the room where they had left the meeting.
In the case of transgenders, they do not stay for a long time in Tirana or coastal areas. Prostitution that comes, stays for 3 or 4 days according to the investigators. In the case of the Italian, I watched it with great interest. The Italian was a 60-year-old man who had come to Tirana earlier and said that he had left for Albania to have a relationship with a transgender. Both were from different countries and left the meeting in Tirana. This is a disturbing phenomenon.
It is an investigative case and there was a debate in court as to where the person providing the service would be placed. The court could not tell how they would classify him, whether they would send him to the men's or women's prison, whether he would be kept in prison. They violated each other and the police intervened. There is an increase in the number of transgenders who have offered sexual services in Albania.
