Journalist Klodiana Lala has stated that the role of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, in the incinerator of Tirana, is being investigated by SPAK, but he is not registered as a person under investigation.

However, the prosecution is investigating the role of Mr. Veliaj. Is he involved? His role must be investigated. It starts with the IFC study, this fact is repeated in the file. Secondly, there are Mr. Veliaj's papers. It must be investigated, there are reasonable doubts that Mr. Veliaj was involved in this affair. The facts are on file.
Arben Ahmetaj describes him as the de facto owner of the incinerator. The affair of the incinerators is not of a separate minister nor of a municipality director, but an affair that has had the blessing of the country's prime minister. In my view, Ahmetaj is remorseful but has no official status. The prosecution must offer him the opportunity to speak ," said Lala.
The journalist also stated that three important directors in the Municipality of Tirana are under investigation and that there were checks in their apartments.
" The prosecution has ordered inspections in the homes of several important directors of the Municipality of Tirana. Documents, hard drives, laptops have been seized. They are the three most important directors of the Municipality of Tirana ", said Lala.
