The Shkodra Court has released four State Police officers, who were arrested a few days ago by the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) in connection with Hasan Ferracak's escape from the "house arrest" security measure.
These are inspectors Dorjan Hasandoçaj, Gentian Xhanari and Dioniz Hotaj, as well as employee Ridvan Zefi, all assigned to the Operational Corps of the National Security Unit in Shkodra.
Their arrest was carried out after the AMP determined that Hasan Ferracak was not in the apartment where he was supposed to be kept under surveillance, although he had been placed under the security measure "house arrest". Ferracak is suspected of the criminal offense of "Removing a prisoner from his place of residence".
Ferracak escaped from his apartment in Shkodra on July 2, despite being guarded 24 hours a day by police officers, according to authorities. The circumstances of how he managed to evade surveillance are still unknown.
Hasan Ferracaku is one of the suspects in the massacre that took place in Velipojë five years ago, in which four people lost their lives: Kujtim Ferracaku, Edmond Gocaj, Xhovan Gocaj and waiter Myzerim Zeneli. Hasan Ferracaku himself and his nephew, then 17 years old, were also injured in that incident.
Meanwhile, investigations to fully uncover the circumstances of Ferracak's escape continue.
