Tomorrow, January 23, SPAK will interrogate Sali Berisha in an investigation for passive corruption, and two days later, on January 25, his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi, in an investigation for money laundering for the privatization of the former Partizani sports complex.
An important development is expected between these 2 dates. The judge of the Special Appeal, Ilirjana Olldashi, will examine Berisha's request for the removal of "house arrest" and the dismissal of Irena Gjoka, the judge who ordered the measure of personal security against the former prime minister.
SPAK had summoned Berisha on January 17 for questioning, while Malltezin on January 18, but at the request of the defense lawyers, the questioning was postponed.
It is not known whether Berisha will go for questioning. The former prime minister was placed under house arrest after breaking the security measure of the obligation to appear several times.
SPAK accuses Berisha of passive corruption, while Malltez has also been accused of money laundering, that he benefited 5.4 million euros from the construction of 19 towers in the territory of the former sports complex thanks to the government decisions taken by his father-in-law.
