SPAK has sent for trial the director of the water supply in Shkodër and 3 employees of the municipality after they distributed food to get votes for Bardh Spahina in the local elections of May 14.
According to the announcement of the Special Prosecutor's Office, it is about Ergys Ivziku, Petrit Dyli, Arvit Bushati, Mhill Volaj who are accused of "active corruption in elections".
"At the end of the preliminary investigations of criminal proceedings no. 125 of 2023, the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime submitted to the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime (on 16.08.2023) the request for judgment against the defendants:
Ergys Ivziku, charged with the criminal offense of "Active corruption in elections", provided by article 328/25 and 22 of the Criminal Code;
Arvit Bushati, charged with the criminal offense of "Active corruption in elections", provided by article 328/25 and 22 of the Criminal Code;
Petrit Dyli, charged with the criminal offense of "Active corruption in elections", provided by article 328/25 and 22 of the Criminal Code;
Mhill Volaj, charged with the criminal offense of "Active corruption in elections", provided by article 328/25 and 22 of the Criminal Code.
From the analysis of the evidence gathered during the preliminary investigation, it results that the defendants Ergys Ivziku, Arvit Bushati, Petrit Dyli and Mhill Volaj, residents of the city of Shkodra, within the framework of the simple form of cooperation, have carried out concrete actions which remained in the attempt phase (for reasons independent of the authors), with the aim of donating material goods in exchange for a vote for a certain political candidate, participating in the local elections of May 2023", says the SPAK announcement.
