Durrës police have executed the decision for former mayor Vangjush Dako in hospital. According to journalist Anila Hoxha's sources, he suffered from arrhythmia after the Appeals Court decision and was later found in the hospital.
Vangjush Dako will now be handed over to prison, after the Appeal Court of Appeals rejected the appeal of the former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako for changing the security measure against him.
After reviewing the request, the decision of the GJKKO was upheld, sentencing Dako to 2 years and 8 months in prison. Thus, Dako, accused of corruption, is expected to return to prison to serve the remaining part of his sentence, while about a year ago he was placed under house arrest.
Judge Fjorela Davidhi decided that Dako should be placed under house arrest, because the deadlines have expired, while additional investigations were ordered.
The final sentence of 2 years in prison for Dako's co-defendants, Ardian Bulku and Fiqiri Farruku, was also left in effect.
