Journalist and author of the show "Gjërat Tona", Etleva Delia said that the arsenal of weapons discovered in Tirana is suspected of being trafficked to Albania through Kosovo. She emphasized that the seized weapons are new and sophisticated.
"These are relatively new and sophisticated weapons, which are suspected of being trafficked into Albania from Kosovo. The moment of the attack was chosen while the weapons were in the van, without going to the base. The arrested person and his role are being investigated."
Given the type of weapons, they could be used for sophisticated crime. Uniforms similar to police uniforms were also found.
"The weapons were seized, they are being analyzed, while the police say they are new. But a more in-depth investigation could further the results of this operation. There was definitely information. I believe that the other people involved have also been identified," the journalist said.
She added that this is a new case and has no connection so far to groups that have previously been targeted for arms trafficking, mainly from Kosovo.
"The trafficking line is almost the same, it's from Kosovo. Then the line throughout the Western Balkans. It starts from Montenegro and North Macedonia. This is a new case and has no connection to previous cases," said Delia.
