Analyst Frrok Çupi, commenting on the arrest of the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said that with the support of the international community, high officials are being punished.
In an interview for "ABC News", he described former president Meta, but also former prime minister Sali Berisha as the most corrupt part of politics.
"There is nothing random, but the 21st has become ominous for some and ominous for others. The corrupt part of politics, like Ilir meta, or Berisha and her son-in-law, have experienced it as injustice. But when they killed people at 21, they experienced it as something good. January 21 is the final murder of the hoped-for democracy.
If we judge it like this, we will have one important event after another. This country is now in the care of Western democracies and will slowly be cleaned up, while as a political act it is like a beacon of hope. People want to see these big corrupt people at the door of the law. It creates the concept of freedom and this is a very great gift and Albania could not go to the EU if people like Meta or Berisha and others were free ", he said.
