One of the most discussed topics in our country in recent days has been whether US policy has changed in relation to SPAK and the majority in Albania.
One of the questions that arose was whether there was an American incitement of SPAK in relation to the latest actions, and according to journalist Artan Hoxha, who was one of the guests in the studio, there is a connection.
According to him, the stance of the United States of America has changed and they have an increased interest in criminal organizations in Albania, as they know something that Albanians do not know. The US recognizes their economic potential!

The Americans had this information in advance, they simply took it out of the drawer and put it into practice. The Americans know one thing more than we do. They know the true potential of Albanian criminal drug trafficking organizations. They know it precisely. Why do they know it? The moment we say that there are organizations that have exceeded $1 billion. He knows that for a country like Albania, if there is a criminal organization that is moving cocaine on this scale, he knows the infiltration of this money into the country's administration, they know what can be done with this money during the electoral campaign. Something that we have proven, in reality. They affect the economic, political and social life of the country. The US has already proven this ," Hoxha said for the "Opinion" program.
During his speech, journalist Artan Hoxha took as an example the case of how two Albanian criminal organizations had financed the campaign of Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso.
"Why are our organizations problematic for the US? First, for the first time we have an Albanian group, the Hysaj family by the Treasury Department, exposed and declared as a terrorist organization that launders money for the Sinaloa cartel. That has used American businesses, American territory, has used the casino empire that it had in Mexican territory, and has influenced the US. This is the decision of November 13 of last year. So, for the first time, we have never had, we have precisely evidence from American drug war agencies, from concrete operations carried out on Albanian territory. SPAK has not operated in Albania with its own investigations, they have brought it to SPAK. They have said: 'Here you have it, act'. Who brought these? DEA.
When I was in Ecuador and I met the director of the anti-drugs agency there, when he opened the data, he had it on a projector like you, do you know where he got the data? From the DEA, that two Albanian organizations had financed President Guillermo Lasso's campaign with 5 million dollars. 5 million dollars! Where did they get it? Having this information, the American authorities, seeing that this organization is directly influencing Ecuador, seeing that it moves with a single load of 16.5 tons. That load that was seized in Hamburg. They know where this amount leads. These groups that do this work are Albanian, they have their businesses, their connections in Albania. The Çopja organization alone has 14 million euros in gold bars, 15 million euros in bitcoin. That's all you've got ," he added.
According to Hoxha, the US had no interest in crime in Albania before. But their interest increased precisely after they saw how Albanian criminal groups could influence beyond their country, all the way to Latin America.
"The Americans, as long as our groups were blocking the Mifoli and Memaliaj bridges, were not a problem for them, but when they saw them in America, when they saw them in Latin America, when they saw them in Europe, when they saw their power and potential and that they could influence even far from their countries, they said they were a problem because of their economic power. They do not endanger NATO, but their economic power, when they reach a billion dollars, in a country like Albania they do extraordinary damage. When I say they invested 5 million dollars for Lasso, imagine in Albania when unknown candidates come out with 26 thousand votes. Here is how the connection was made. The US knows very well how this chain has come together and they have come and given the files to SPAK. And we will see in the future what they will ask for and with what intensity. When they want to act, they act ", said the journalist, adding that the DEA is very clear to what extent criminal organizations have infiltrated our country, at what political level and administrative law enforcement, and how much influence they have managed to buy with “narco-dollars,” influencing even “the legislature.” According to Hoxha, it remains to be seen how much they will act.
