Lawyers Kujtim Ibra and Redi Ramaj and security expert Fatjon Softa have commented on the development of prostitution in our country.
The Softa expert said in "Breaking" that it is very difficult to interfere in the Telegram application, since it has a much more protected system, even though it has been attempted several times by the Albanian state after hacker attacks.
Softa: We are dealing with the Telegram platform, which is Russian, created in 2013, created by two people of Russian origin. Some countries have banned it, it cannot be interfered with because compared to the systems of other applications, Telegram is much more protected, it protects its 700 million users, it is not possible to penetrate. They can use this platform for terrorist purposes, pornography, use it for transfers, it has been impossible to intervene. We saw how difficult it was for the Albanian state when our data were published, all of them were on Telegram. There have been several attempts by the government to contact the platform, but it is impossible, I don't know if their base is still in Russia or Dubai, only if it could be the blocking by the state, but it is impossible to intervene, the registrations anonymous.
On the other hand, Ibra said that houses in the neighborhoods of Tirana or coastal cities are rented and returned to hotels where prostitution is practiced.
Ibra: In Albania, we have returned to Thailand in terms of sex tourism, all applications in many hotels have become fashionable in Tirana, in coastal areas, buildings, where whole floors are rented and become hotels, motels for practicing prostitution, this is what should concern us first point. It is a reality, if you enter Tirana.
Ramaj : There are also Airbnbs that are being dealt with, certain communities and buildings are also concerned.
Ibra: In every neighborhood there are hotels and motels where prostitution is practiced with and without license registered as hotels, when the police go they say we have them registered as hotels. Prostitution is practiced by Albanian and foreign girls, this is a worrying problem, there are family members who call the police and say that the gentleman has returned to the motel and the family members are not even reported.
Lawyer Ramaj brings cases of threats in these applications, while there are minors who are used through the Telegram application.
Ramaj: Even minors use these applications, we have had suicides, we have had open threats by publishing photos, the authorities have not been able to access them. The solution is to create a law for an institution close to the State Police.
