Residents of the village of Tërovë in Maliq have been facing problems with drinking water for more than two weeks.
Residents state that whenever they turn on the tap, the water has a strong odor and cannot be used for drinking, cooking, or hygiene. They say they have tried boiling the water to make it usable, but to no avail.
Residents notified authorities, but say they have not received a response. This situation has prompted them to protest.
The same problem, according to residents, also occurs in the village of Pendavinj. Around 1,000 residents are affected by this situation.
Representatives of the water utility declare that they are aware of the complaints. They say that a week ago they conducted field verifications and took samples for analysis.
According to them, the analyses did not reveal any problems in the network and the water was found to be drinkable. After the new complaints, they are continuing monitoring.
